چکیده

Nanoparticles such as carbon nanotubes (CNTs) have various clinical and diagnostic applications utilised for imaging drug delivery. Therapeutic proteins/peptides can be loaded on CNT coronas to specifically hit immune cells in overdrive or uncontrolled malignant cells. Previously, it was reported that a recombinant version of human surfactant protein D (rfhSP-D) containing trimeric C-type lectin domains induced apoptosis several tumour cells/cell lines, including SKOV3, which is an ovarian cell line. Solid-phase rfhSP-D coated microtiter plate considerably more potent inducing breast We immobilised highly purified, endotoxin-free CNTs assessed its antiproliferative effect SKOV3 Biotinylated rfhSP-D-CNTs were phagocytosed by cells, followed time-dependent manner. Gene expression analysis revealed compromised mTOR complex mechanism apoptosis. When added culture system produced proinflammatory response likely anti-tumorigenic. Thus, rfhSP-D-CNT seems worthwhile nanocarrier testing vivo using animal model orthotopic cancer.

Surfactant Protein D modulates allergen particle uptake and inflammatory response in a human epithelial airway model

BACKGROUND Allergen-containing subpollen particles (SPP) are released from whole plant pollen upon contact with water or even high humidity. Because of their size SPP can preferentially reach the lower airways where they come into contact with surfactant protein (SP)-D. The aim of the present study was to investigate the influence of SP-D in a complex three-dimensional human epithelial airway m...

Comparison of MTT, trypan blue, and clonogenic assay, to determine the viability in human anaplastic thyroid cancer cell line

Background: Evaluation of cell viability is momentous in pharmacologic and oncological research. Cell viability evaluation determines cell sensitivity and consequently treatment outcome. Various methods are available to determine cell survival. Each of these methods evaluates different endpoints. Accordingly, determining the correlation between these methods is important. In this study, in orde...

CYTOKINE AND GROWTH FACTOR MODULATION OF CELL CYCLE EVENTS IN HUMAN MELANOMA CELL LINES

Cytokines influence cell cycle events, which in some but not all instances can be associated with melanoma progression. Analysis of the G0/G 1 and S phase fractions of the cell cycle was used to assay the proliferative or inhibitory activity of cytokines against ten human melanoma cell lines, including pairs of cell lines derived from primary and metastatic tissue of individual patients. Cy...
